Adjustable Travel Throttle
Changing the throttle travel is a fairly popular modification among riders. Racers and street riders try to shorten the throttle; stunt riders, on the contrary, make it longer. This allows finer throttle control during wheelies to avoid sharp jerks that can make you lose control.
The principle of adjusting throttle travel is very simple. The travel depends on the diameter of the cam on which the pull and return throttle cables are fixed. So to make the throttle longer, you need to reduce the cam diameter. Ready-made kits with cams of different diameters are convenient for this. The specific cam is chosen relative to the stock one.
The Motion Pro Revolver throttle kit has four cams, but only the smallest one, 35 mm, will be smaller than stock. Before buying this kit, measure the stock cam and determine the adjustment range for your specific motorcycle.
Besides travel adjustment, this kit is great for stunt bikes, since the throttle has a strong aluminum housing and convenient cable connections. A plastic switch housing and throttle don't last long on a stunt bike. The locating pin breaks off quickly and the switch housing starts to rotate. The housing cracks, the throttle develops play and so on.
