XSR125 Dominator
Yamaha XSR125 is the most interesting motorcycle in its class! It’s a beautiful classic retro bike in a café racer style, combined with modern technology:
- A high-tech, reliable engine with variable valve lift to improve efficiency at high RPM.
- Liquid cooling with a full-size radiator for maximum engine efficiency across all operating modes.
- Electronic fuel injection with O2 sensor, allowing the engine to adapt to changing environmental conditions.
- Six-speed gearbox, enabling comfortable cruising at optimal engine speeds.
- Slipper clutch to prevent rear-wheel lock-up during aggressive engine braking or rapid downshifts.
- Clutch assist system, reducing lever effort and allowing upshifts with partial clutch engagement.
- Advanced independent ABS system on both wheels.
- Rigid inverted front fork for improved handling and cruise stability.
- Rear shock absorber with progressive linkage, increasing energy absorption and expanding the suspension’s comfort range.
- Lightweight aluminum frame and swingarm.
- Full-size chassis and wheelbase, suitable for riders of any height and weight.
- Stylish stock LED lighting, including the headlight and taillight.
The motorcycle is manufactured in France for the European market. In Europe, 125cc motorcycles can be legally ridden from the age of 16, but the XSR125 has gained great popularity among adult riders as well.
The bike works equally well as a daily commuter and as a fun weekend toy for motorcycle rides, because it is beautiful, well-built, and makes it easy to experience real emotions and gain riding experience.
We previously owned a 125cc motorcycle — the Honda Grom — which left everyone with great memories and valuable experience. It’s one of the best bikes for fun rides, but as a daily means of transportation, the Grom had its drawbacks.
Because of its small wheels and four-speed gearbox, it wasn’t ideal on high-speed sections (with a top speed of around 110 km/h), nor in heavy traffic, due to the low riding position, which limits the rider’s visibility and makes them less noticeable in traffic.
The XSR125 is free from these drawbacks, while retaining all the advantages of a small-displacement motorcycle: lightweight, agile, fuel-efficient, reliable, easy to park and store, and simple and inexpensive to maintain.
In its class, the XSR125 already dominates, but we decided to turn it into an out-of-class leader by certain criteria and name it “Dominator.”
To achieve this, we installed the brightest optics in the world — something no production motorcycle comes with from the factory:
- Ultra-bright Rhombus LED turn signals with a classic asymmetrical design from the German brand Kellermann. The brand specializes in LED optical technologies and produces some of the brightest indicators on the market.
- Beautiful, extremely bright mo.blaze cone LED bar-end turn signals from the German brand Motogadget. They define the motorcycle’s overall width and are highly visible in traffic. These are among the safest turn signals available, as they are visible from all angles, while the focused beam is directed forward only.
- The brightest LED headlight on the market — Shark Demon 2, originally designed for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, from the American brand Custom Dynamics. This headlight features advanced electronics, offering reasonable power consumption and making it suitable even for a 125cc motorcycle.
The handlebar was built using unique components that outperform the stock parts and look great at the same time:
- High-strength aluminum LSL AS1 Clubman handlebar, with geometry that mimics high clip-ons and is specifically designed for café racers using handlebar risers.
- Motogadget mo.view sport 60 Flip mirrors — high-tech, low-profile, glassless mirrors machined from a single piece of aluminum and virtually unbreakable. The reflective surface is created by transforming the aluminum’s outer layer.
- Accossato radial off-road brake master cylinder, developed specifically for small-displacement motorcycles using a single two-piston caliper. This master cylinder incorporates all of Accossato’s racing technologies, with the brake fluid reservoir compactly and elegantly integrated into the body.
- Accossato Revolution clutch master cylinder with reduced lever effort. Features an ergonomic lever, stainless-steel hardware and fasteners, and a high-strength CNC-machined body.
- Adjustable Gilles handlebar risers, allowing individual handlebar position adjustment in two planes.
Combined with a full titanium exhaust system, OEM styling kit, and road-focused tires, the XSR125 Dominator looks like a big bike. Many of our guests mistake it for the XSR700 — and sometimes even the XSR900.
At the very least, in terms of brightness and style, our XSR125 is a true Dominator!
Our magazine features detailed articles on the installation of all components, all of which are available for purchase in our motorcycle shop.
