Interio Stunt Cup 2016
Interio Stunt Cup is the biggest Russian stunt riding tournament, held in early September in St. Petersburg. This year a record number of participants came from Russia, Belarus and Lithuania. The tournament format and rules remained unchanged: the winner was determined by the total of two runs.
The winner was Denis Rybalko from Khabarovsk. He drove 8,000 km across Russia specially to compete. Den rides technically and cleanly: thanks to his consistency he rode both runs without mistakes, showing good tricks in all categories. There were kangaroos, a great series of wheelie tricks in circles, drifts in difficult tank positions and a tsunami.
Second place went to Lithuanian rider Paulius Labanauskas. Paulius rides in a modern, fast, aggressive style with lots of jumps. Paulius didn't handle the high pace very well: he crashed and made mistakes. But he did some tricks at world level: high kangaroos, a whip with a fakie, a high jump into a high chair and a fast drift.
Last year's runner-up Nikita Pokusai took third place. In the first run he amazed everyone with a sky-high tsunami in Ben Baldini style! There were other high-level tricks and a high pace, but mistakes broke up the flow of his run.
Young St. Petersburg rider Foma Kalinin was a pleasure to watch. At 14 he already competes on a big 600 cc motorcycle and does several professional tricks put together into a full freestyle routine.
It's great that the tournament is gaining international status! We want to see as many European riders as possible!
As usual, watch the videos of the TOP 3 runs and the highlights!
