Hard Enduro Climbs
Climbs are the most important element in hard enduro. Most of a race consists of climbs. Not being able to get up climbs won't let you finish, and poor climbing skills won't let you fight for good places, because they will drain all your strength.
For amateur rides, climbs are also a crucial element that greatly expands routes and adds variety. Of all the obstacles an enduro rider faces, climbs are the ones that can become impassable. You can heave the motorcycle over a rock or log even if you can't ride it, drag it through a ford or mud, but if you can't get up a climb, the race is over.
Ilya Malikov explained and showed in detail how to ride basic climbs with and without a run-up. Climbs from a standstill are much harder, but it makes sense to start training with easier ones, where there is room to build up speed. For training it's advisable to modify the motorcycle's tail properly so it doesn't break if the bike flips, and to fit straps and loops to make it easier to drag the motorcycle by hand. It's recommended to choose grippy boots to climb and descend more confidently. If possible, it's advisable to fit protection for the main components, especially the radiators.
We hope Ilya's tips will be useful for beginner riders.
